Day 1
On this morning you start your 11 Days Kenya and Tanzania Safari Tour. Drive northwards through the farmlands of the Kikuyu people to reach Mount Kenya and the small town of Nyeri in time for lunch. In the early afternoon drive through the forest to your tree hotel where the night is spent high above the floodlit waterhole and salt lick. Frequent visitors are elephant, rhino, buffalo and the giant forest hog. Overnight at your tree hotel.

Day 2
After breakfast flank Mount Kenya and descend into the dry and rugged semi-desert where Samburu National Reserve is situated. Harsh but beautiful this reserve harbors many species of animals not found in the more lush parks to the south. Afternoon game drive with dinner and overnight at Sarova Shaba Lodge or similar

Day 3
The day is spent exploring this reserve. You will almost certainly see the graceful reticulated giraffe, Gravy's zebra, elephant and the oryx perhaps the origin of the legend of the unicorn. Overnight at the Sarova Shaba Lodge or similar.

Day 4
After breakfast drive to Lake Nakuru stopping en route for a brief look at the magnificent Thomson's Falls where the waters of the Ngare Naru cascade in a sheer drop of 73m. Lunch at Nakuru before visiting the world famous bird sanctuary and National Park where the sight of the million or more flamingo has been described by Sir Peter Scott as, "the world's greatest bird spectacle". Dinner and overnight at the Sarova Lion Hill or Similar.

Day 5
Leave Lake Nakuru after breakfast with picnic lunches. Cross the Kenya / Tanzania border arriving Musoma late in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the Peninsula Hotel

Day 6
Depart for Serengeti after breakfast arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive with dinner and overnight at the Serengeti Sopa Lodge or similar.

Day 7
Full day in Serengeti. Dinner and overnight at the Serengeti Sopa Lodge or similar.

Day 8
Morning game drive in the Serengeti and lunch. After lunch proceed to Ngorongoro via Olduvai. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge or similar.

Day 9
Full day crater tour with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at the Ngorongoro Sopa or similar.

Day 10
After breakfast depart for Tarangire National Reserve. Arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon depart for Game Drive. Dinner and overnight at the Tarangire Sopa lodge or similar.

Day 11
After breakfast leave for Arusha. Lunch . Leave for Nairobi with 2.00 pm shuttle, arriving Nairobi in the evening. End of your 11 Days Kenya and Tanzania Safari Tour.

How long is the 11 Days Kenya and Tanzania?
This itinerary runs 11 days, starting and ending in Nairobi. It is a private departure, so the dates are yours to choose and the pace can be adjusted. If you would like more or less time in Kenya Safari, we can rebuild the itinerary around that.
How many people will be in my safari vehicle?
Six at most, and that is a hard cap. Our Land Cruisers seat seven, so there is always a spare seat and every guest has a window and unobstructed access to the pop-up roof hatch. A fully private vehicle is available on any itinerary for a supplement.
When is the best time to do this Kenya Safari trip?
July to October is peak season, with the Mara River crossings and the best trekking weather, and it carries the highest rates. March to May is the long rains: green landscapes, newborn game, very few vehicles and the lowest prices of the year. January to February is dry, hot and excellent for general game viewing. There is no bad month, only months that suit different things.

To confirm, we take a 30% deposit, with the balance due on arrival. Changes are free up to 30 days before departure and our full cancellation terms are published on the site.
